There is only one cure to hammering nails in your head; stopping it. There is only one cure to overcome the §1,2 limited mental operating system in its self-destructive entropy increasing closeness: Setting up science#3 that can work out the individual success potential of everybody concerned individually and redesigning the corresponding policies and systems accordingly!

I hope this indication will give you some ideas, what we could work on in Australia based on Applied Personal Science APS®, a Sydney business name in 1987 that did not  get across a §2-! limited market in Sydney at the time with very few people ready for engaging in Timely Exchange of Project-Oriented Competence, TEPOC©. One among them was my wife Diane, then a Sydney Tech English Teacher who moved to Switzerland with me. At the time of this writing the Sydney Morning Herald, with those who participated at the Olympics still under withdrawal symptoms six month after The Games as an audience, asked the though provoking question: Did they (the Games) change us forever?

The thought it actually provoked was, "What might change us forever?" The trivial and thus unsatisfactory answer is that every pleasure and every pain contribute to an endless process of shaping people. Just look what the last century did to humanity; can you imagine any pleasure or any pain short of brain surgery or genetically manipulation that could have taught us the necessary lesson for a sustainable future which most people obviously still do not want to know about other than in content-free terms?

It also allowed the open Australian question#2, what makes Australia to grow up to be united in national pride and a heighten our belief in themselves, their ability to take on the world and advance, reconcile with nature and the Aboriginal but only to channel it into

the standard question#1 how the economy could receive the massive boost promised by whoever wants Australians to invest into something such as politicians.

After reminding its readers to a hope based on a non answered question the Sydney Morning Herald then asked: "Have the games transformed us?" and the author is quick to say: "I'm afraid my personal answer is this: I hope not." to keep the system closed before anybody has a chance to justify himself for another approach as the one outlined here.

And again, in all the pain of the lack of a socially effective response ability to their own questions, Australians are given the glorious assurance that the Sydney Games  were wildly successful and very enjoyable and to comfort Melbourne, "as the 1956 Melbourne Games " was added in brackets.

And then the point is made again: "The opening and closing ceremonies were sensational examples of pop culture on parade and the fireworks were the most spectacular Australia - and perhaps the world - had ever seen."...apart from bombing Baghdad...

Thus the positive, hopeful and self-gratulatory §1-J mood is infotained and further allowed to "generate a surge of euphoria and goodwill in which some participants felt as though their lives had acquired a new  sense of meaning and purpose" as people might have felt when the emperor show his new cloth; until an eight year old child, who still dealt in reality cried out: "The emperor is naked!"

In view of the rumor of the Olympic deficit, after all previous questions were left in the air, the question is then raised whether "we were getting our money's worth".

Stages such as the Olympics are indeed exciting, they fuel people's expectations, build hopes and photo albums and some people's purse draining that of others. And the author of the mentioned Sydney Morning Herald, Hugh Mackay, admits, they are not in the same league as falling in love, having a baby, or acquiring a new outlook on live.

He also pointed out that it would be tragic and pathetic if such high-priced and essentially commercial events had the power to define, transform and sustain our cultural identity to any significant extent and that what can, can never be given a dollar value.

Mind you, he did said: Cannot be given a dollar value! Not more appropriately but less politically correct; what can provide a lifefulfilling identity receives always too little attention and resources to become socially effective to counteract the curse of the otherwise entropy increase. He simply, and in tune with the spirit of time, mentioned, that these further unmentioned "thing" that can build identity is usually felt deeply such as what he mentions to have the potential to give us a new outlook, the pain of illness, bereavement, divorce or retrenchment and death: No wonder, we have mainly created a dead end culture rather than one that builds on the open-ended generative principle of lifefulfillment as suggested here.

The fact is a §1,2 confined human collective system tends to cannibalize  its  §2-mode of its members to become the corresponding stage, Australia the !=letting go of repentance to grief, Switzerland its v=values to become needy as before it became rich, the USA its check and b=balance to become helpless, Japan its j=self-justification to became ambitious as it did in attacking Pearl Harbor etc. In case of Australia this limitation cause periods in which the mainstream mentality indulged in a great deal of soft illusions about new and powerful friends. This was so before World War II, until Menzies remained them after the bombing of Darwin by the Japanese, a few days after Pearl Harbor, that nobody can beat them except themselves. Thus going to beyond its self imposed limits towards §3,4 Australia managed to play a very active role on a broader stage of the world corresponding to §0-y; the sufficient essential minimum on a global scale, in this case to defeat the Japanese in the Pacific.

Based on the corresponding myths that can still be drawn out of history intellectuals still justify themselves in their science#2 dominating generalizations by advocating real hope in the collective, democratic action of people referring merely to the records about the past to extract the strength to face the future with more of the same...

Idealizing hopes they argue is more important than love based on understanding the individual case, which the merely reduce to emotional being, for it is supposed to make life endurable.  However, a new generation is growing up, who identifies this incoherent arguments rightly as that of "shit heads", but in their cry for legends might end up in the same trap. In fact the hope over love argument it is on the same line like the intellectuals answer to communism: To be rather red than dead. Ignoring that loveless people have no meaningful basis for thinking and acting, to then stress that hopelessness in their terms is helplessness, is in fact luring people to outsource their substantiality to some trendy ideal on one empire, for one leader or benchmark to rule. That is the recipe by which many of today's leaders have been conditioned to in Aspen and many management schools down the line based on some 64 politically correct books about the intellectual foundation of the USA. The advocates of this approach consider it easy to stifle hope in teaching young adults about the world in view of poverty, inequality and the degraded environment, ignorant of thus degrading their inner environment resulting in a mental operating system not longer capable of making any sense of their lives in a world that implements its own negation hoping that a new order will go on evolving out of the resulting thinking and human catastrophes thus induced.  This reduction of essential issues to spiritual, e.g. virtual and then to secular ones and  answering them with Platonian rhetoric for yet another generation is nothing but a perpetuation of Plato's curse as the Enemy of an Open Society (Karl Popper) with its historic message: Let all hope go that any essential problem will ever be solved; in indeed science#2 has not solved any one of them!

For comfort we are told, that the world, in view of being closer to the abyss of self-destruction with a prevailing mentality to make the next step after the point of no return, has become a kinder place for most people that it was in the past. Then it is admitted that

	there has not been unalloyed progress, nor even sufficient one and that
	the incremental concessions in historical evolution have not been granted out of kindness, let alone love, of powerful people,
	but, in tune with social Darwinism and Marxism, that poor and defenseless people have fought for them through dissemination of powerful ideas through
	the formation of political and industrial movements,
	with resistance and violence.

A layer in the outback went almost broke, until he made a friend from his college come to the country town; then both businesses boomed because people could fight each other. In short we lack a §1-based conscience#3 to make judges and members of parliament understand that their job does not consist in doing someone a favor, it is to accept the §2- duty bestowed by the community independent from undue influence of *3-egoims,   +2/-4 hedonism  and $1,5,6 spirit of the time and its manipulation and projections! Thus those responsible for such jobs should not just come from what is considered the ranks of the brightest and the best, they need to be qualified of discerning what is a truthful representation or map of reality and the most appropriate way to model substantiality from lies and fiction based on *3-hidden agendas ; there is a point where whatever the walls and the spin, people will react with "ENOUGH"! But see, to get over that, you simply need a two party systems with the same "shit heads" on top as is the case in most democracies... In short, the remedy has to reach deeper into §3 to constructively overcome brainwashing for equating §2 with %1-politcal correctness and accept the corresponding laws of lifefulfillment of those concerned as a basis for %1 in view of thus promoting §1-existence towards §3-personal fulfillment and §0-on a life-long and global scale  or by simply standing on ones record, ending up in the virtual reality of %5-manipulating the %6-projections of the then unavoidable chaos...
