From the STAR- to THE TRIGATE

Imagine a stargate; a door to another universe, an appealing idea since we seem to be at a loss in coping with ours. Each of us has in fact his own, mostly hidden, agenda about how to transcend life meaningfully. In fact there are 48 options to be considered in 6 mental classes that fall in the five basic competency areas  of

- people skills in u,
- politics with its DisseminationGiving Informatics, DGI,
- economy with its imperative in terms of Return On Investment (share holder value), ROI and
- art with its Virtual Reality, VR, as an add-on value and

- science with its MeaningGiving Informatic.

History and the present trends consist of attempts to configure various combinations of those five basic gates as a "stargate" to wealth, power, fame etc. In view of its expo.01 to be held in 2001, Switzerland is tinkering with the gate initiated by politics (following up on the tradition of having a national exhibition every 25 years) followed up by culture/art/intellect, financed by economy. The gate propagated as leading into the 21st century has so far amassed only 700 million of the required 1200 million SFr. It started with the virtualization of Pipilotti Rist, its first artistic director, a fancy video clip artist. She quit when the end of her enchanting, seemingly

As history demonstrates, what is obvious from the picture, the trigate politics-art-economy is unstable, decaying into the axes of an economically driven politics, even if it is called

In reference to Joel Wiggins Letter from the Director of Education and Research at the IC² Institute of the University of Texas about Wealth Creation, Prosperity Sharing, and the Quest for Constructive Capitalism the solution can be highlighted in his terms as follows along Grade 1-6:

An Introduction to the LifeFulfilling Trigate based on Grade 1-6:

1 A mid-term relevant common project that makes a socially acceptable story: Unfortunately, our institutional myopia (and many people still wanting to live in its myth because it seems to carry visions and value for them) in the short term often leads us to forget that the best and highest return over the long run demands an investment in our communities, our employees, our vendors, and others affiliated with our businesses. e.g. real people.Today, our best executives and entrepreneurs know they must discover and pursue innovative forms of prosperity sharing among all the stakeholders of their enterprises which demands a corresponding Applied Personal Science APS®g To their benefit, they are the socioeconomic heirs of George C. Marshall, who knew, perhaps best among the statesmen of the 20th century, that capitalism, peace, and prosperity are inseparable. Wealth creation and prosperity sharing are inextricably intertwined. They are but different sides of the same coin, in our terms, the three basic competencies required by the lifefulfilling trigate depicted above.
2 Seduction know-how that appears both desirable and useful: The project of setting up lifefulfilling trigates is not idle speculation. It is a matter of overcoming the destructive forms of capitalism, which have surfaced before. In the USA, the inequities embodied in the grand estates of Newport, Rhode Island remind us of a Robber Baron Age that fortunately was not tolerated nor sustained. An unforgettable lesson of pre-World War II Germany is that fascism is simply a hybrid concoction of socialism and capitalism gone bad. Today, crony capitalism or "capitalism of the privileged few" still exists in far too many nations of the world.
3 An Orientation Knowledge that points beyond anyone's initial insight towards the lifefulfillment of as many as possible rather than ordinary political correctness (through which the world blinds people) that promotes deconstructive capitalism: Twenty years ago, IC² Institute was known briefly as the "Institute for Constructive Capitalism." In 1978, however, the word "capitalism" and the ideology behind it were far from politically correct on America’s university campuses. Thus, the wording was changed from "Institute for Constructive Capitalism" to the present "Innovation, Creativity, and Capital." Some argue now that we should never have changed the name. My sense is that the change was appropriate for the times.
4 Using the relationships to reality that are truthful in view of life-fulfillment rather than in terms of % and $: We easily forget how much our mindset has changed in just a few short years. When IC² emerged two decades ago, the Berlin Wall and the Soviet system of socialism were still intact. No one, not even the most perceptive futurists could have predicted the extent and the degree to which communist and socialist experiments around the world would collapse and be discredited among academicians, government officials, and community leaders. This collapse profoundly altered the framework within which we viewed capitalism. Our perception of capitalism was also similarly altered by another revolution of thinking - specifically, the change in our understanding of entrepreneurship and our feelings toward entrepreneurs. Twenty years ago, the word "entrepreneurship" was not yet part of our everyday vocabulary. Much worse, the entrepreneur, the very embodiment of capitalism, was seen as an unworthy scalawag, a greedy and dishonorable person who, more often than not, was a swindler of wealth (a black artist playing with linguistic turns). Today, through clearer lenses, we understand that entrepreneurs reside at the heart of wealth creation, and that creating new wealth is not an easy task, but one that requires great courage, sacrifice, and commitment. But a word of caution for those still celebrating the triumph of capitalism is in order. We need to belay the celebration. Despite its success, the future of capitalism remains clouded and uncertain in many parts of the world. Today, capitalism is "being tested" - a polite euphemism for saying it is "under attack" - in countries such as Russia, Indonesia, and Haiti. Similar challenges are underway in Mexico, Peru, India, Hong Kong, and in other nations and regions. Who is to say that the forms of capitalism that emerge in these nations won’t be destructive? Who is to say a virulent form of capitalism won’t emerge in the United States of the 21st century?
5 Substantiality into which we can wholeheartedly entrust our life for its fulfillment: The founder and other visionaries associated with the Institute understood the importance of entrepreneurs and their special role in high technology commercialization. They were ahead of their times in viewing capitalism and entrepreneurship, in their purest forms, as being beneficial tools of society. However, the fact that their views were not in the majority was not the fundamental reason for the name change. As both a "think tank" and a "do tank," the Institute needed to bring different, often divergent groups, together from business, academia, government, and the community. Only by uniting these groups could the new Institute discover, demonstrate, and transfer knowledge regarding entrepreneurial wealth creation and distribution through "Innovation, Creativity, and Capital" rather than let art embellish a one-sided wealth amassment reducing science to being its slave through mobbing, and through controlling budgets.
6 Fulfillment of as many lives as possible: "New challenges and conditions confront the Institute and capitalism as both move into the next century. Presently, the Institute has emerged as a global leader in entrepreneurial facilitation of high technology ventures, and capitalism is a favored economic ideology and sociopolitical system around the world. And so the quest for constructive capitalism continues. Fortunately, some things are clearer now. An important clarity is that many business leaders realize that shareholder value cannot be calculated in isolation. A global economy won’t allow it. Other stakeholders won’t allow it. We know now that the best return on investment we can earn over the next one hundred years must consider not just wealth creation but wealth distribution towards optimizing the life-fulfillment of as many as possible: Only when this only meaningfully sustainable political focus is established can there be enough relevant information flow in the lifefulfilling trigate to make economy finally become the bloodstream, and science the intelligence of humanity, which then becomes the nervous system of Earth, rather than the cancerous tissue it still is, to use Peter Russel's analogy of the "Global Brain".

In conclusion, asking for political systems that recognize human rights is not good enough; we need the setting up of trigates consisting of real people in charge of each of its three competency nodes, and allowing an information flow in view of the life-fulfillment of those concerned. Meeting this requirement is a precondition to attract people dedicated to economy and art to put their resources together for the same purpose, rather than competing with life by virtualizing it in order to cannibalize and re-engineer it for the purpose of meeting hidden and isolated agendas. It is not by pleasing the economic imperative that you create life-fulfilling wealth, it is not through political correctness that you attract aesthetics that relate to real life and its fulfillment! A content-free science of nature cannot sort out the necessary flow of information in trigates, nor can personally neutral humanism do that job in its orientation towards the least common denominator, or in its "divide in order to rule" approach. What is required at our time is a science that is practically applicable to what is personally  relevant in terms of life-fulfillment, and that in a scientific way, in order to be accessible and reproducible for all people with good will, e.g. Applied Personal Science APS® and its application in human systems making use of modern groupware such as those used for monogate purposes by the Flag Ships of say the US Navy, and for sorting out the axis of internal politics of say A3-banks and the economic constraints in their up-to-date decision support centers.

In fact you can imagine a trigate consisting of an up-to-date decision support center for politicians, in interactive touch with the people's lives within the orientation knowledge for which scientists with appropriate qualifications are competent and responsible like civil engineers towards architects in order to provide an attractive market for economy orientated people and those with cultural competence; people on the path to lifefulfillment respect the truth of what works and have no need for power games, for one to win at the cost of all, in the end they themselves are affected. Those who have not yet attained that degree of maturity have to be drawn into trigates to discover who they are and what they are here for, rather than being conditioned to respect 3rd grade as the limit of their comfort zone, 4th grade facts as a threat to escape from into virtual reality and 5th grade as a challenge for which they have to mobilize the mob to waste 6th grade life fulfillment in the pre-trans-trap. To sustain such trigates requires people with 6th grade integrity; 2nd grade stories and 3rd grade conferencing is not good enough! And, where art manages to virtualize life in people's minds so that trigates fail, and economy cannibalizes trigates and what relates humans as humans up to attempts to abolish human beings as such, reconciliation is required to overcome the unavoidable human pain, before it turns into hate which goes to genocide: Internal matters matter; a fact the science and the scientists of our time has to integrate!

The point is, we, a group of dedicated Swiss and an Australian, are now getting ready to set up lifefulfilling trigates. The know-how is in place to parameterize participants based on a Human System Analysis HSA©. We are looking for qualified partners, potential sponsors and possible sites to install a trigate say at universities, exhibitions, research and decision support centers and new settlements that aim for sustainability, innovative enterprises and meaningful cultural activities - I hope we do not have to wait to see it done until a settlement on the Moon or Mars dictates it as essential for survival, after the only planet wasted...for there should be life-fulfillment before survival...
