Swiss Politics and ECOLOGY |
|
Classical politics deals in personally neutral matters and highlights them with connotational rhetoric in view of the desired figures. So traditionally there is little space to consider the unavoidable as long as it is not yet a pressing matter - non-renewable oil gets cheaper and cheaper just to demonstrate the dangerous inadequacy of the free market economy! Rich countries like Switzerland have managed to outsource such problems...

| The question is, whether Bl uses his capability of harmonizing (c) resources as a means to the above ends, or whether he is still in touch with the pressing ecological requirements of our time. We are now beyond the "sound barrier" of what is public. The fact is, in its maximal (M) concern (D) about its living conditions (h), Switzerland uses natural resources that require about five times its territory; we have managed to have a very clean country by outsourcing (R) polluting activities and so it would only be fair if Switzerland would spearhead real ecological moves. However, since little prestige can be gained from getting a significant ecological change and since there are, in FC's feeling (F) more pressing objectives that should be worked out, he can only deal minimally (m) with this issue. For AK on the legal side, the ecological issue is rather confusing (v) since he is more interested in something like the new constitution by which he can justify himself (S). However, ML is "at home" (h) in this area and he can make a significant impact with his solution (L) of forcing transport on the railroad and this requires a lot of convincing thinking (D) in order to defocus the attention of the decision makers from the car lobby. He has yet to come up with a convincing energy solution in view of the proposed dropping of nuclear energy. Bu might have perceived (W) the need to cope with the problem of human resources in the public service, while Co gets things done with his feelings (F) of the minimal (m) requirements to get his agenda met. KV might be confused (v) by the resources issue, but personally he requires a way to justify himself (S) with it. RD's has a feeling (F) for it, yet her priorities are more in the social problems it poses. And finally it is PC's responisibility to perceive (W) what he can do to reconcile economy with ecology, while AO is excused (u) from this issue now that the army is scaled down. | |
